Why Most Parents Struggle With Bedtime
Bedtime battles are real. Screens creep in, routines get chaotic, and storytime often gets skipped. But here’s the truth: when kids miss out on reading, they miss out on language growth, focus, and the magic of imagination.
Research shows only 41% of parents with children under 5 read aloud daily — and the gap is growing.
Every parent wants calmer evenings, a child who looks forward to bedtime, and the peace of knowing they’re setting their little one up for success. The good news: you don’t need hours, just 10 minutes a night.

✨ COMPLETE FAMILY TRANSFORMATION Better sleep, better reading, better family life

-
Children who regularly hear stories develop stronger emotional intelligence and empathy. Choose books with characters who face challenges or show kindness. Pause to ask, “How do you think they feel?”
-
Reading books all the way through helps kids practice patience, memory, and self-regulation. Resist skipping pages — finishing the story builds focus for school & beyond.
-
Storytime rituals strengthen attachment and help children feel secure and loved. Snuggle up close, turn off distractions, and make this “your time” every night.
-
Kids with bedtime routines that include stories fall asleep faster and wake up less often. Create a simple bedtime flow: Brush teeth —> Pajamas —> Story —> Lights out.
-
Children who are read to daily enter kindergarten with stronger pre-literacy skills, better comprehension, and more confidence in learning. Even short, consistent nightly reading builds the foundation for school success. Start now — it compounds over time.
Language Growth
Kids who hear books daily are exposed to 1.4 million more words by age 5 (The Million Word Gap study).
Why Reading Matters
Every story you share with your child is more than words on a page — it’s shaping their brain, their heart, and their future.
Bonding & Sleep
Bedtime reading is linked to better sleep routines and stronger parent-child connections.
Brain Development
MRI studies show children’s brains light up in regions tied to imagination and comprehension when hearing stories.
From birth to age 3, your child’s brain is developing at lightning speed. Reading aloud each day boosts vocabulary, builds focus, sparks imagination, and gives your little one the security of your love and attention. Science shows it’s one of the single most powerful things parents can do to help their child thrive.
Reading doesn’t have to feel like a struggle. In Nurturing Readers, Kyle Del Francia shares his personal journey from struggling student to lifelong reader — and the role phonics played in transforming his life. This parent-friendly guide equips you with practical tools, simple strategies, and research-based methods to help your child thrive in reading.
Phonics eBook
The fire of literacy is created by the emotional sparks between a child, a book, and the person reading. It isn’t achieved by the book alone, nor by the child alone, nor by the adult who’s reading aloud - it’s the relationship winding between all three, bringing them together in easy harmony
— Mem Fox
We’ve created a simple, research-backed guide to help parents build a joyful, consistent reading routine that kids love. In just 10 minutes a night, you’ll:
Grow your child’s vocabulary and focus

Build stronger bonds through daily connection
Unlock the “million-word advantage” before kindergarten.
“Reading aloud with children is known to be the single most important activity for building the knowledge and skills they will eventually require for learning to read.”
— Marilyn Jager Adams
About us
Kyle and Tiffany Del Francia are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters, ages four and one, and have built their home around faith, family, and the joy of shared reading. Both Kyle and Tiffany experienced challenges with reading and comprehension as children—Kyle was placed on a 504 plan for much of his schooling, and Tiffany also found reading difficult even though storytime was a meaningful part of her childhood.
For Kyle, everything began to change in fourth grade when a specialized tutor helped unlock the world of books, and nightly reading with his parents and siblings became a turning point that transformed his abilities. Tiffany’s parents emphasized reading as a family, and while she often struggled as a child, she grew to deeply value those moments. As she became a mother herself, she found her love for reading expanding, with a renewed appreciation for the lasting impact it can have on children.
Today, Kyle and Tiffany carry their experiences forward into their own home, creating a daily culture of stories, imagination, and connection. They’ve already seen the profound impact—watching their four-year-old’s abilities blossom and even their one-year-old eagerly engage with books. Their shared journey is a testament to the magic of reading: it doesn’t just change children, it changes families.
Together, Kyle and Tiffany believe that reading aloud is one of the greatest gifts parents can give their children—a simple daily act that builds brains, strengthens bonds, and creates memories to last a lifetime.
